Healing a Hip Joint

In the summer of 1999, I sat with Swami Vishwananda in his parents' house in Mauritius. A young boy of nineteen years old travelled from far on his motorbike to visit Swami Vishwananda for the first time. He said that his father had many dreams of Swami Vishwananda, although he had not actually met him. The young boy was curious to know why Vishwananda was communicating with his father in this bizarre manner? Vishwananda conversed at length with the young man while I sat beside them. They swopped tales and laughed wholeheartedly while getting to know each other better. Suddenly Swami Vishwananda playfully hit him on his hip. The young boy was amazed to find out the pain that had troubled him for many years had gone. Swami Vishwananda said jokingly: "Tell your father that your pain on your hip is gone and you came here for this reason only."

Rise above your limitations
December 26, 2009

Sri Swami Vishwananda: Jai Gurudev! (audience: Jai Gurudev!)
Firstly, Merry Christmas to all of you. To all who were not here, hope you have had a wonderful Christmas time and that you were filled with a lot of joy and happiness. Like I was saying a few days ago- it is a time of change. It is a time that we have to change ourselves. A time that we have to start taking responsibility. As long as we don´t take responsibility we weaken ourselves. Often we will see that we let ourselves be dominated by our mind. And you will say: “But, Swamiji, we try our best, but we don´t succeed. Why? We know very well, why we are here. We know very well what we are searching for. And it’s all inside of ourselves. But yet- why is this mind always troubling us? Why is it so difficult to let it go. Why? It is simple. The answer to that is: We like our limitation. Just that. We like to limit ourselves and we like to dance on this limitation. That´s how, when we analyze ourselves, we see our own limitation. But yet, deep inside ourselves there is another voice that says: “Hey you have to wake up. There is something greater than that.” But yet, the limitation of the mind shows that…“that’s it”. We are in our own game and we don´t want to jump out. It is, like we are caging ourselves like an animal and we run from one side to the other. Then we are back again to the same place. Like that we let our mind darken our true Self. But from time to time, through the grace of God, through the grace of Divine Mother, there are some rays of light and the gate is opened and you go out. But then, out of fear, you run in again. Where does that lead you to? Krishna has said to Arjun: “Dear Arjun, be free. Be like a Yogi. Raise your weapon and fight.” When he said that to Arjun, he did not say that to Arjun only. He said that to all of us. We are all Yogis but we have to be free. What is a Yogi? It is somebody who is – free! But yet when we see our limitation we see that we are not free. Whenever a fear arises, whenever a thought of: ”Oh, I should have done this, I have not done that”, you know, we run around always in circles. We don´t free ourselves. Because we are scared. We are scared to look at that limitation. What if this limitation is everything? No, What you have to do is to face it. You know very well that this limitation is not you. It is not that for which purpose you are here for. Face it. Look deep into the eyes of this limitation and let go of it. As long as you don´t look deep into the eyes and face it by yourself you will always be into this game. Unless you like it! I don´t know, you have the free will of choice about that. Like a great Sufi said: You have the choice of life to take this way or that way. It is your choice. You are free in that choice. But you will come to a point where the yogi which is inside of you, the greatness which is inside of you, will have to take the choice also. Your true self will have to take the choice. And this true choice of which is inside of you will overtake the limitation of what you think it is. So, cross over this limitation, face it, don´t have fear. Start firstly with little things. You know yourself. You know that God will always provide for you. If an animal knows that - we are bound by more qualities than an animal. So we can realize who we are. We are all one family, that what we call humanity. Everybody talks about humanity but very few really behave human (laughter). So, if we call ourselves we are part of this society, we are part of humanity, we have not to behave like an animal. Even animals behave better in society. Because they know who they are and they know where they are leading to. They trust in the higher consciousness that God will always provide. But poor us human being, us who have more than just an animal, we like to degrade ourselves. We like to make ourselves worse. It is time to cross over this limitation. It is time that you really let, what you have inside of you, awake. How many among you, out of fear what people think, you are not doing something? (some raise their hand) Many. But than you are limiting yourselves. Be free. That is what your inside is calling you. To be free, to learn and to move on. So, life is the most beautiful thing that God has given you. Don´t waste it, you know. Cause at the end, when life is departing this body and you look back you say: “Oh my God, I have missed so many choices, so much chances God has sent to me, but yet, my mind has been ruled by so many matrikas. I blinded myself.” Why do I say, I blind myself? Because the choice to be blind or to see is up to you. How to do that? You do your sadhana every day, no? Do you, or not? How many among you do your sadhana regularly, I mean every day? (many raise their hand) Good. You see the spiritual sadhana helps you to free the mind, helps you not to get entangled into this limitation. Once a student went to his Guru and said: “Master, I am troubled.” The master stood right in front of him and came very near to his face, like this microphone, and said: “Why do you hang on the illusion? You know, whatever is in this mind is an illusion, why do you hang on that. You know very well that deep inside of you only God resides. Why you don´t find joy inside of this?” Then the master said: “My dear child, recite for 24 hours nonstop your Guru mantra and meditate intensely for 4 hours and you will conquer the mind.” Of course the grace of the Guru was there. But the same thing- the grace of God is with you. Chant the name of God if you can 24 hours. And you will say: “What if I sleep?” How can we chant when we are sleeping? But that is the secret of mantra japa, you know. The more you train yourself of chanting throughout the day the name of God, the more you train yourself in reciting continuously, in every action to remember the Divine, the more it will become automatic, even when you sleep it will carry on chanting and will carry on singing the Divine names. And practice your spiritual practice, because your spiritual practice is like a shield, like an armor, that has been given to you to protect you. And when you are protected you don´t need to fear anything. But if you have been given an armor you put it in a wardrobe and here you have many enemies attacking you, how will you protect yourself? Tell me, would you be protected? No. So why putting the armor inside a wardrobe! Wear it and be disciplined about it, self-disciplined. Jai Gurudev! (audience: Jai Gurudev)And, happy New Year also! Hopefully next year we have many great yogis amongst you all. Well, it´s good to hope something, you know. We have to keep hoping! (laughter)

Satsang

Last night Swami Vishwananda gave a spontaneous Satsang. The Tempel was immiatly packed full and there were a lot of interesting questions: about Jesus, about Mary the loving Mother and about all mothers of the world. -About to do your duty and karma... There was the question from Swamiji: "...do you really want to change?.."- and the following silence in the room.... and the loving smile from Swamiji! After the Satsang there was the possibility for some to have a private talk with Swamiji. (see picture)

A Ring (part two)

At times when I was with Swami, he would take the ring, look at it and then give it back to me without a word. After one such time, I was looking and playing with my ring intently and removed a piece of cotton I had glued there to make the ring fit my finger. Than I took my marriage ring and started to play with both of them together. It was then that I realized that there was only one bit of my wedding ring that didn’t fit into the ring Swami had given me.
I then used a tool to weld both rings together. This was unbelievable as the two rings welded together now fit the picture of the ring I had dreamed of, all those years ago. I now also only had to wear one ring and so all my wishes were fulfilled. When I later complained to Swami that it had taken me almost five years to realize this combination, he had a good laugh at my expense!

A Ring (part one)

A few years ago, we often used to meet Swamiji at a place near Dijon where there were many evenings of prayer and singing the glory of God, Jesus and Mary. Everyone brought statues of Mary or a cross from home for the altar as most of them would start to cry oil. The group in those days consisted of only about twenty or thirty people and over time everyone had at some point received a ring from Swami. I neither noticed nor cared at all as I didn’t like jewelry and was quite happy with the pendant from my first interview. It was only when he finally did give me a ring, that I realized that I had been the last one! The ring was a bit too large and didn’t fit properly on any finger so I didn’t really get too excited about it. Around this time I was due to get married which meant I would have another ring to wear. I was thinking about getting a ring with a stone, regular for my wife, but the stone hidden for my ring.

Since this kind of a ring seemed not to exist I had to settle on something else that we both liked. I did however choose a ring with a stone, which is not usually the custom for a men’s ring, as it came closest to realizing my dream ring. Years went by and though I didn’t get any more enthusiastic about my jewelry, I did get used to it. Once I forgot to wear Swamiji’s ring and I consequently developed a sharp pain along my arm. I remembered that I used to have this pain a long time ago and that it had disappeared ever since I had started wearing Swami’s ring. When I later questioned him on this matter, he confirmed my beliefs and told me that it had been one of the reasons he had given me the ring.

CD: Singing to our beloved

The last weeks  our musicans worked on a new CD. Dharmananda recorded with Kalyani and Vishnupria (lead voices) a CD with Krishna Bhajans. Chaturananda, Padmavati and Pramod did the back chorus and Revati did percussion and zimbles. During the recordings when I came in I lisened them. The music and the voices are so touching that tears come into my eyes- so much longing and so much love!
The CD will be ready on the 23rd December. (10 Krishna Bhajans , total Time 65 Min)

The four tonnes Murti

After Swami had purchased a Shirdi Baba Murthi we were trying to help Swami move the big murthi inside the temple. To put on the platform, the statue was four tonnes, we tried using a tractor but it was too big to pass through. We had to do it by hand we had to get a few people to do it with a special chain they pulled it all the way, but it was so heavy that the murthi was sinking in the ground. Swami told us “we could do it”, so we asked more people to help and some more people came to help. We put some ladders on the floor and tried to put the murthi on the ladders, so that we could have a smooth pull. Finally we were able to put it on the ladder and were able to pull it where it needed to go. The next difficulty was to lift the murthi 1.5 metres in the centre of the platform. Swami had already left for India from Mauritius, and said to us that it would go well, before he left. The roof was supported with a metal bar, we put some rope around the support and tied the other end of the chain to the murthi and pulled it up. However the risk was that we could possibly break the roof because the murthi weighed approximately 1 tonne. Miraculously the murthi came up and we pushed it in the middle, where it was supposed to be.

My Divine Teacher

I first met Swami Vishwananda in Belgium in 2005. And… my life took a favorable turn. Shortly after, I travelled to Germany for an interview and his first question to me was: “ Are you aware that Jesus Christ and Mother Maria are with you?” I was really surprised but fulfilled with happiness. Then, with a group from Nederland, I made a trip to India and Swami materialized a Bracelet for me. Meanwhile I often go to Germany for a Darshan: it is so special and exceedingly beautiful. For me he represents the Divinity himself and he radiates love, happiness and peace. He is devoted to everything that he realizes. During Shivaratri 2009, I was sitting in the back of his new centre in Springen. When Swami came in, he smiled and he took place near me. He bent forwards and I just wanted to envelop him with a lot of maternal love and care. For reason of respect I didn’t. He took place in front and materialized lingams. Also on Easter he was stigmatized from his hands and we received the blessings with it. I always feel his presence, sometimes I have the smell of Vibhuti, sometimes of roses. For me he shall allwaysstay my divine teacher example and sadguru.

With so much Love to my Lord.

Lingam

I will never forget the first time I saw Swami giving birth (or manifesting) a Lingam. It was the birthday’s feast of Goddess Lakshmi. I think that there is no better way of describing that event than giving birth. There was a very strong energy in the air, very much like the festivity and anticipation that precedes the birth of a child. It is interesting to note that the lingam quite often pulsates long after its manifestation. Later on, someone told me that an avatar assimilates the negativity and karma of others, and then processes it through his body to produce something very pure, like a lingam.

I feel his Guidance

Having met Swami Sri Vishwananda is a great grace in my life. In the Vedic tradition it says, how important it is, to learn from a living enlightened Master.

After having met Swami Vishwananda, I experienced great joy and the feeling of finally having found the Guru I was looking for. Since he came into my life, wonderful things are happening like finding sources to study the Vedic Sutras, important studies for my profession and receiving more and more clarity about my life, relationships with myself and with others.
I can feel his guidance inside my heart and I am very grateful for that.

Help in daily situations

Very often when I start my laptop it doesn’t want to work and I have to start it again and again without a positive effect. Till the point, when I ask Swamiji for help. Maybe it seems funny, but I just ask him once for help and the laptop works. The same when I drive to the city and need a parking space. (I have to note that I live in a big city and it’s very difficult to find a parking space.) Before I arrive there I ask him to organize one for me and it works perfect!

A lovely nighttime visit!

One night, I was awakened very suddenly to hear the door handle being violently rattled! I partially sat up and realised that this was really happening! Then just as suddenly, I saw Swami Vishwananda come into the room! He had come in an energy body. It's outline of light very clear to me as was the knowing that it was him and it was all o.k. and just relax. As his energy shape reached the side of the bed he bent down and materialised his hair so that I could touch it! It was soft and beautiful. Now guru's test their disciples.....I'm sure we all know that!....and he did some testing on me there and then. I passed as he then materialised his hands for me. He held them out so that I could feel the solidity and warmth of them. I had them to myself to kiss at my leisure. Joy! Then he put me to sleep again. When I awoke in daylight and went to the door, I realised the handle that he had rattled so noisily was now mended as it had been broken before his lovely nightime visit!. Jai Guru Dev!

Chokolate

I was recently in Germany for Navaratri. It was my fifth day. I was so happy! I finally found a place where everything is about devotion. Nothing is about ME; it is all about You. I was doing seva and had a thought that chocolate would be nice. There is no junk food here. I resolved to buy a candy bar at the airport when I left. Soon after I had this thought a devotee came to me and said Gurudev had left some tea, would I like some. Of course I said yes. We shared the tea and the devotee said, by the way, he left some chocolate too. Would you like some? I was so surprised. This showed me once again that all of my needs are simply taken care of; even the seemingly silly ones. Since meeting Swami Vishwananda, my life has become more than I could ever have imagined.I have been blessed on every level possible...

To see him is to be consumed by him

When I moved in january 2009 as a resident to Springen, I had spent a life full of responsibilty as a therapist in a doctor’s office. There, I laughed and cried with my clients and it was a mixture of being a mother, homeopath, priest and veterinarian. Barely arrived in Springen, I was treated like the newborn baby of an extended family. The name ‚Digambari’ additionally gave me the association of an unorientated fawn.
On the first day after my arrival, the following story happened: At lunch, my brother Jyotir prepared himself an overfull plate.
He placed it in front of me and said „Eat“. So I took Jyotirs plate and started to eat. After eating half of it, I was already filled up, while Guruji turned around the corner and said, as if I was a baby „Digambari, eat !!“. But I was not hungry anymore… My brothers told me: „Come on, eat. You have to do, what He is saying…!“ But I really didn’t feel like that. Suddenly, Swami turned around the corner, saying „Digambari, there is so much misery in the world. Eat!!“ When He turned away, I noticed a smile and remembered the time of my childhood. More and more, the whole table was involved in that ‚movie’ and everybody wanted me to finish my plate. However, from the beginning, I had the feeling, that something completely different was meant. Suddenly it came into my mind, that I should eat Him, my Guru, symbolically and assimilate Him inside of me. I was just thinking of that, when Swami left the room and the issue was done. Later I wrote to Him: „You wanted me to eat You, but most of the time you are eating me.“ Like Ramana Maharshi said: „To see Him, is to be consumed by Him.“

A Guru is doing his work.

I have witnessed a number of times how Swami Vishwananda tries to show us through his Divine love how we can experience God’s endless love in our own hearts. During his first visit to my home and also during later encounters with him, I have been able to see a bit how he works.

I could see and feel how the hearts of strangers and friends who came to see him opened in his presence. Often he gave simple tips or suggestions. Everybody receives exactly what is needed in regards to his or her current situation. Seeing his way of teaching people through his sensitivity and Divine Love is a truly remarkable experience for me. To see how all burdens seem to fall away from those who seek his help and how they change the moment they meet him, is a truly beautiful sight. For the first time in my life, I have been able to watch a divine guru doing his spiritual work.

9 Dec 2009

He would come!

For one of my following appointments with Swami Vishwananda I had decided not to speak with him about my inner pain and fears. However, it all turned out a little differently. As soon as I stepped into the interview room, I was not able to utter even a single word. I cried so hard, as if a great pain deep inside me had been touched. Everything I had suppressed for such a long time broke out of me like a volcano. I still remember that I was terribly ashamed, for I thought that I was too weak to contain myself. Swami simply smiled at me lovingly. After a few minutes he mentioned, very calmly, the letter I had written to invite him to my home. I gasped and told him, my face wet with tears, that I thought a visit would not be possible due to my lack of English. He said there was the option of engaging a translator. I will never forget this moment. I felt like a child that had just received a piece of chocolate to make it stop crying. In that moment I forgot all my fears and pains. My heart was full of joy and boundless love. Nothing else was important anymore. He would come! With his endless love, he freed me within minutes from my inner jail.

Request by Swami Vishwananda

Swami Vishwananda explicitly requests not to make him personal gifts, please also not for Christmas!

"No presents, please!"

Should someone have the wish to support Swamijis work, then please instead contribute financially (or elsewise) to the buildup of Center Springen. The center is being built as a source of spiritual inspiration for people from around the world. For support please contact our Mr. Kubera (naamdev@bhaktimarga.org). Many thanks! Jai Guru Dev.

I knew him already

When I first heard about Swami Vishwananda through an acquaintance, something deep inside me was touched. I believed that I knew him already. However, it still took some time before I could get in touch with him, as he was living somewhere in seclusion. Finally I was able to make an appointment with him. His youthful and friendly manner had a calming effect on me. The feeling was indescribable and my heart was filled with peace and tranquillity.

When he opened the door I was surprised at how young he was, but his eyes were proof that he was not from this world. My first interview with him lasted for only five minutes, but it would mark the beginning of a new life for me, in every aspect, internally as well as externally. I realised that my search was over and that I had arrived. I had found everything I had been looking for throughout the course of my spiritual search. This day was going to change my life.

Darshan

After some Bhajans Swami Vishwananda spoke about humbleness and acceptance. How importand it is, to do everything  in every moment only for God.  Not for anybody, not for yourself- just for God.. We should be alway aware, that he is there in every single moment, in every situation. This is a very easy way, to let God come into your life, to let him be part of it.

Satsang about the Hiranyagarbha Lingam

We had a wonderful Satsang with Swami Vishwananda.
He explained everything about the Hiranyagarbha Lingam.

It was about Love and God!
It was about the Purusha and Narayanaya!
It was about the Universe and the Earth!
It was about God and every every Human beeing!

(I will post the Transcription when it is ready! Because we are busy- there is a Darshan tonight- it can last till tomorrow!)

Srimad Bhagavatam

Last night Swami Vishwananda asked us, if we know what the Hiranyagarbha Lingam is? So, because he was not happy with our answers, He will give a Satsang tonight. Meanwile we should read about it in the Srimad Bhagavatam!

I surched in Wikipedia:

Hiranyagarbha means: the 'golden fetus' or 'golden womb' which is the source of the creation of the Universe or the manifested cosmos

The Hiranyagarbha Sukta of the Rig Veda declares that God manifested Himself in the beginning as the Creator of the Universe, encompassing all things, including everything within Himself, the collective totality, as it were, of the whole of creation, animating it as the Supreme Intelligence.

Can you imagine ???

God's Universe

During the time when the Hiranyagarbha Lingam was first here for three days in 2005, there was a Darshan taking place in Frankfurt. Which meant that Swamiji had the Lingam with him in his hand during the whole drive and in which he said: „This Lingam is the whole universe, if it falls, the whole universe will be shaken!"

How did he find the Lingam in this never ending Universe?

Speech from Swamiji about the manifested Hirayagarbha Lingam

Birth of the Hiranyagarbha Lingam on Babaji Commemoration day 30.11.09 Swami Vishwananda said:
The Hiranyagarbha lingam is the primordial creation of God, it is His will itself. The whole universe is inside of it. We all are inside of it.
Why now? Maybe you noticed that during the past two weeks something was happening. The world is changing. It has nothing to do with 2012. It will reflect on greater change later on.
I thought that people are changing for the better. It is actually contrary. Only a few are changing to the better. The consciousness of this world is actually quite low. The lingam will help to give a boost up to the consciousness. Maybe it helps.
The lingam will reflect on the world itself, not only on this centre. It has a lot of healing qualities. It does not only help to heal the physical level, but it heals the soul itself. You might be wondering how the soul can be affected at all, because it is pure and divine. That is true. But all the karmic things around the soul from many lifetimes are suffocating the soul. You all here have done really good things, otherwise you would not be here.
The lingam cannot be created by Brahma, Vishnu or Mahesh. It needs to be created by someone living.
Do you know what we are celebrating today? Today we are celebrating the decision of Maha Avatar Babaji to stay immortal in his body on earth to help mankind. This was some 1.800 years ago. He had reached that state where he immortalized his body.
Babaji will always be there to help humanity if needed. Humanity called on him to help. He will also help when you do not ask for it. The commemoration day is a nice gesture towards him.
Originally the lingam is neither from Brahma, Vishnu or Maheshwar.
Jai Gurudev!

Marriage with the Divine

In another interview, Swami Vishwananda took vibhuti from his hand and put it into my mouth, on my head and third eye, saying, “This is your ‘Marriage with the Divine’”. I was speechless as I wondered how he could know, without my telling him, about my desire to become a nun and dedicate my life completely to God. Since then, it has become obvious to me that Swami continually addresses my unspoken desires. He knows my shortcomings and prejudices and simply accepts me with all my immature, imperfect aspects without judgement. He guides me in developing serenity while dealing with my fears and weaknesses.

Leaving the world I've known

I met Swami Vishwananda for the first time during Easter 2003. At that point, my life was organised, happy, interesting and I had good friends. Meditation had become more and more important and valuable to me. Therefore, I was not searching for a guru or spiritual teacher; I was only interested in meeting a living saint.
After meeting Swami Vishwananda, I continuously experienced deep joy and bliss with him, something I had previously experienced only in my meditations. During one interview, Swamiji cautioned me, saying, “You have to wait and be patient. One day you will understand why you have incarnated”. I was deeply touched that Swami knew about my deep longing for an answer to the question of why I had incarnated. He knew also about my tendency to blame God and to be angry with Him for my incarnation in the chaos presently on Earth. I was consoled very much that Swami knew, without my telling him, of my yearning and took it seriously by counselling me about it. Through my encounters with Swamiji I have learned that he knows me better than I know myself; he knows my desires and challenges with love, and he accepts me as I am.

George Bush on the Altar?

At the Home of Ram Dass:
On the altar were a lot of photos of Saints and deities. Swami Vishwananda asked Ram Dass:
“You have a lovely altar, but tell me why do you have the photo of George Bush on your altar? Are you worshiping him?” “No, but you know, to all these saints and deities I can say I love you. The day I can say to George Bush, I love you, I know that I will be a good person.”
The next day Swami Vishwananda gave a Darshan, where Ram Dass and his family came. The day after we visited his place again with some devotees.
When Ram Dass came in the room, the little group of devotees greeted him. Then they saw the altar with pictures of gurus, saints, and deities. Ram Dass followed and we sang the Hanuman Chalisa and some Bhajans.
It was a Divine moment. The presence of Hanuman was very strong when Swami Vishwananda and Ram Dass were together.

Visiting Ram Dass in Hawaii

After following a winding road in the hills, we reached Ram Dass’ villa, in Hawaii’s countryside. “Tell me, was Nam Kaoli Baba an Avatar?” I asked Swami Vishwananda.
“Yes, he was an incarnation of Hanuman. In fact he was an incarnation of Shiva. Shiva very rarely incarnates directly on earth. When he incarnates, he does so under the face of Hanuman. When Rama came on earth, Shiva incarnated as Hanuman to be the greatest of all his devotees, “ Swamiji said.
After a warm welcome, Ram Dass asked Swami to speak about His youth and about Babaji. We then sang Bhajans in front of his altar. In front there was a picture of Nam Kaoli Baba, Ram Dass then told us the following story:
On a trip with Nam Kaoli baba and other devotees through India, they had a car accident. Passengers of the car then saw a huge hairy hand (from Hanuman) protecting them. The car was no longer of use after the accident, but none of the passengers got hurt.

The whales at Maui

In Maui, we went to visit Ram Dass, a disciple of Nam Kaoli Baba. As we followed the sea, Swami Vishwananda looked at it and said: “Maybe we’ll see whales!” - “Really?” I asked and then remembered that an afternoon in 2005, when we were in the garden that Yogananda planted on top of a cliff, above the sea in Encinitas. Swami Vishwananda also had told me that dolphins were nearby and a few minutes later we had seen dolphins jump and disappear again.
- “Look at the whales, there!” He exclaimed.
- “I have never seen whales jumping like that!” I said.
- “They gather to breed,” He told me.

It was at Christmas in Steffenshof. We celebrated in the Temple with Christmas carols and baby Jesus, and everyone was taken by the sacred atmosphere. Late night there was a Christmas dinner up in the lounge. When Swami Vishwananda was sitting in his place, he began to unwrap the presents he got from the guests. There was much joy and just a festive atmosphere in the room. We all watched Swamiji. And in the midst of this mood, Swamiji stopped and said, "You bring me so many gifts, of course I am happy, but I do not need all this! Whad I need from you is your loyalty! I beg you for your loyalty and fornothing else! We were all very quiet, everyone thought of Swami's words. Many have given him their loyalty!

Krishna Bhajan with Karnamrita Dasi

On Swami Vishwananda's Tour 2008 through India we met Karnamrita Dasi in Vrindvan. There was a wonderful Bhajan night with Swamiji and Karnamrita Dasi. On the picture below you see her together with Swamiji. All the hotel-people came to join us and in the end we all were dancing!

Here one title from her Album:  Prayers by Women

"mumucur munayo devah
sumanamsi mudanvitah
mandam mandam jaladhara
jagarjur anusagaram
nisithe tama-udbhute
jayamane janardane
devakyam deva-rupinyam
vishnuh sarva-guha-sayah
avirasid yatha pracyam
disindur iva pushkalah"

"The demigods and great saintly persons showered flowers in a joyous mood, and clouds gathered in the sky and very mildly thundered, making sounds like those of the ocean's waves. Then the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Vishnu, who is situated in the core of everyone's heart, appeared from the heart of Devaki in the dense darkness of night, like the full moon rising on the eastern horizon, because Devaki was of the same category as Sri Krishna."

Blessing

It was on the Steffenshof bottom of the stairs in front of the temple entrance. There I stood with some people when Swami Vishwananda came from outside. He greeted us with his smile, sweeten, and then went up the stairs. I thought to myself, "those were the days when he embraced us as a welcome"! Shortly thereafter, Swami came down again, walked straight toward me and with outstretched hands, he pinched me simultaneously in both cheeks as you would in India is making in children. Then he hugged me.

On the trip to Israel, it was in Jerusalem, he brought back the group because he wanted to show us a band. Every individual, he waved and most into it while he touched her. I thought to myself that this was such a blessing and that I would like to blessed by him. So what then? He touched my arm and patted me on the head twice again ..

Praying the rosary

Pritalananda tells from his holiday at the home of Swami Vishwananda 1999 in Mauritius:
One Friday night, many people came to the chapel for prayer and to chant the rosary. After a while, Swami left the room and went to his bedroom. Later I went to him and he was kneeling in front of a big picture with the face of Mary. He was topless and his whole body, his hair and even his eyes were covered with thousands of oil drops. He said to me:
“It is burning my eyes! I have it in my nose and down my throat! What are the people doing?”
“They keep on praying on the rosary,” I replied.
“That’s good,” he murmured.
This was a marvellous week; I was full of happiness like I had never been before. On the day of my departure, early in the morning the taxi took me to the airport. I was crying all the way. The driver, full of compassion, even forgot to charge me. He received his pay later though.

The Questions

To benefit from the universal knowledge of Swami Vishwananda, I made a list of the most important questions I had in my life. I was thinking of asking him these questions the next morning. Surprisingly enough, I was not able to ask him these questions then. When eventually he was on his own for a few minutes, I took out my paper and fired him with questions. He answered all of them in the nicest possible way. Upon reaching the last question, I realised that all these questions were meaningless. One had to live in the present time rather than making plans for the future.
As I was trying to speak about a personal problem, he made a joke. This put me instantly at ease. I felt that he knew everything and that I could talk about everything that worried me. I knew that he was not judging me and that he was only trying to help me.
