After Swami had purchased a Shirdi Baba Murthi we were trying to help Swami move the big murthi inside the temple. To put on the platform, the statue was four tonnes, we tried using a tractor but it was too big to pass through. We had to do it by hand we had to get a few people to do it with a special chain they pulled it all the way, but it was so heavy that the murthi was sinking in the ground. Swami told us “we could do it”, so we asked more people to help and some more people came to help. We put some ladders on the floor and tried to put the murthi on the ladders, so that we could have a smooth pull. Finally we were able to put it on the ladder and were able to pull it where it needed to go. The next difficulty was to lift the murthi 1.5 metres in the centre of the platform. Swami had already left for India from Mauritius, and said to us that it would go well, before he left. The roof was supported with a metal bar, we put some rope around the support and tied the other end of the chain to the murthi and pulled it up. However the risk was that we could possibly break the roof because the murthi weighed approximately 1 tonne. Miraculously the murthi came up and we pushed it in the middle, where it was supposed to be.
