Durga Prayer

.. Every Tuesday night the evening prayer here at Shree Peetha Nilaya is done for Durga Maa. One of Durga's "specialities" is to kill the Ego :).
.
.
Last night Swami Vishwananda was with us and with him there is a particularly wonderful atmosphere. His presence makes such a difference!
.
.
He sung some bhajans for the Divine Mother and ended the prayer with the Durga Chalisa and the Durga Aarti.

Review of Shivaratri

.
.
Here at Shree Peetha Nilaya we are nearly back to the daily routine.
.
The Shivaratri night was great! Our biggest gratitude to Sri Swami Vishwananda!
.
.
With his grace he gave many people the possibility to observe the birth of a lingam! - deeply touching, isn't it?
.
.
Important request:
There were many registrations - and with this number of people the temple was already full to the brim. But - nearly double the amount of people registered came, wich was a bit too much.
.
.
We seriously and kindly need to ask you:
.
Please don't come without registration!
(its so easy: registration@bhaktimarga.org)
.
Otherwise, in the future, due to organisational reasons we cannot let you in and have to send you back home.
.
Thanks to all of you that were willing to follow our "rotating system", so it was possible for everybody to sit in the front part of the room for one round! Thank you!
.
.
Most of all thanks to Swamiji for your Divine Grace and magnanimity being with us!
.
Om Namah Shivaya

Lingam emerges from Swami Vishwananda

.
.
On YouTube you can watch the appearance of one of the 17 Lingams Swami Vishwananda gave birth to:
.
.-

17 Lingams

.
I asked Swami Vishwananda about the exact amount of the lingams: he gave birth to 17 Lingams
.
.
On this photo are 15 of them, he already gave 2 away before.
The lingams are partially covered with Vibhuti from the abishekam-ceremony.
.
.

Swami Vishwananda gives the Lingams to People

.
Swami Vishwananda has materialized about 16 Lingams during the night of Maha Shivaratri and the day before.
The exact amount is unknown, because sometimes he materializes a lingam for somebody in a private moment.
.
.
Yesterday night, during the evening prayer he gave the lingams to the person for whom it was meant to be.
.
.
This was very fascinating, Lingam by Lingam: He had one of the Lingams in his hand, felt where the Lingam wants to go and was looking over the crowd of people. Sometimes he closed his eyes. Then he pointed out a special person he found and asked him to come to take the Lingam.
.
.
Swami VishwaAnashuyananda helped him with bringing the right person to the front.
.
.
Later Swami Vishwananda asked all the new Lingam-owners to come in front and he explained what to do with it and which purpose their Lingam has.
.
.
It was a terrific ending of Shivaratri 2012!

About the Master

Last year Swami Vishwananda gave a Satsang in Bordeaux!
.
One of the questions was:
"When and how did you know that you are a master?"
.
.
Swamiji's answer:
.
"Myself, I don't say that I am a master, but I am born like that, so it is not that I became. I dont call myself 'master', the people say 'master' out of respect.
But in reality what is a master?
In reality a master is the slave of everybody; yes, we say 'Master', but in reality he is the slave of everybody even if he is sitting on a beautiful chair.
He is here lifting people up (he makes a gesture with his arms like lifting something up) and he himself (the master) is down, but he has already done the way. He comes here to help and to lift up people - but only with humility.
Finally, when you are reallized, you see that there is no master and that there are no deciples. It is just the game it has to be played by being on this planet earth."
.

Satsang in cold, cold Springen

.
.
It was a wonderful Satsang- interesting questions and brilliant answers!
.
.
We would like to bring up one of the questions in particular, because many people ask this:
.
'Which Mantra should we do: Our Guru Mantra or Om Namo Narayanaya?'
.
Swamiji's answer: "Chant your Guru Mantra in the morning (inside) and then the rest of the day you can chant 'Om Namo Narayanaya'.
With chanting your Guru Mantra you receive not only the blessing from your Guru, you receive the blessing from all Gurus of the world.
'Om Namo Narayanaya' is everything! This mantra awakens the desire to attain the goal of life (self-realisation)"

"The next please!"

.
Since yesterday Swami Vishwananda is back in Springen.
After the evening Prayer he had some time for everybody who had something on their heart.
.
.
... with Naamdev about some finacial things...
.
.
... and with Bionodini about a booklet in french.
. .
Some were standing aside watching the scene and Swamiji said: "The next please!"

Soon we will be celebrating Maha-Shivaratri - the most important feastday for Lord Shiva in the Hindu Tradition.
By Swami's presence we will be able to get a glimpse into the divine worlds "behind the curtains". Just be open-
.
We found a nice picture depicting the attributes of Lord Shiva:
.
.
There will be a little booklet with explanations and stories about Shiva (in english and in german) available in our shop for Maha Shivaratri.

Thanks Meera Dasi for the picture!

Shiva Chalisa

.
Together with Swami Vishwananda we will celebrate the holy night of Shiva, "Maha Shivaratri".
It is celebrated in the darkest night of the hindu month Phalguna which falls in our calendar this year on the 20th/21st of February.
.
.
The Shiva Chalisa Stotra is a Hindu devotional song addressed to Lord Shiva. The Shiva Chalisa is the forty verse prayer to Lord Shiva, the divine consort of Goddess Parvati Devi. Shiva Chalisa or the Shiva Forty was written by Ayodhya Das.
The 40 verse lyrics praise Lord Shiva and request of him to bless the devotee and remove all the problems in life and bring success in everything he/she does.
.

Swami Vishwananda's picnic day

Here some more pictures of the wonderful day Swami Vishwananda spent with his devotees:
.
.
During the bus drive there was not only singing but also some Sega-dancing
.
.
The splashing, which Swami Vishwananda did to all his devotees was in reality a very special blessing, but they only became aware of this grace later in the day.
.
Special time with Swamiji's singing
.
.
This is how Swamiji takes care of us: He repeatedly gives us the chance to be with him - one only has to be ready to get on the bus! He is always there for everyone and makes every single person happy: those who want to drum, to dance, to meditate, have fun....and all the while he gives his very unique blessings - and no-one notices! He never says anything! He wants that we feel it and become aware of it ourselves.
We've all experienced that: it becomes clear only much later that during a "small" and seemingly unimportant moment with him, something very special takes place...
.
(thank you Pritala, for sending these pictures)

Mauritian Newspaper

Here the Interview in the mauritian newspaper last week.

Picnic with Swami Vishwananda

.
Always when Swami Vishwananda goes to Mauritius, he takes one day off with all his devotees there. Then they rent a bus and go to different places and temples all over the island. They take drums and cymbals and the whole time in the bus is a big party.
.
.
They had a picnic near the seaside where Swamiji had big fun splashing around and wetting everybody. (It's a pity that we dont have any photos of this)
.
.
There was also a quiet time of a little meditation as you see on the picture.
.
