During this whole week, people have been streaming in to Shree Peetha Nilaya from all over the world to celebrate with Sri Swami Vishwananda. We've got such a huge and beautiful family!
During the next three days (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) we'll be working to share updates to our Bhakti Marga family that couldn't make the trip to SPN, in a couple different ways:
Periscope - live streaming video
As you may have noticed in the last few days, we've been sharing improptu livestreaming over an app called Periscope. This app shares the view from a mobile phone with the world, and we'll be using it as the only form of livestreaming for the 10 Year event.
Since we started using it, we've been able to share some pretty cool spontaneous events, like Swamiji singing in the temple, the installation of new murtis in the entrance (by Swamiji), Bhakti Sounds musicians singing their hearts out, and more.
For the 10 Year Anniversary weekend, we'll be walking around, sharing on-the-ground views of booth presentations, funny moments with guests, and, of course, Swamiji. We'll for sure be livestreaming the main concerts with Swamiji, Bhakti Sounds, Bittu Mallick, Karthigiesen, and the Kirtaniyas, AND, the satsang Saturday night with Swamiji.
How to tune in?
- Download the Periscope app for your mobile device(s) here: www.periscope.tv
- Then, follow @BhaktiMarga108 on Twitter.
- Make sure to turn on push notifications for @BhaktiMarga108, so you're updated when we tweet about the streams going live. (Instructions for Android and iOS here)
The links that Periscope posts to Twitter about a new livestream do also work with desktop internet browsers. They look like this:
Twitter - live tweet updates and pics
Along with announcing livestreaming, we'll also be using Twitter to share pics and to announce what's happening, when it's happening.
Look here for fun selfies of the international group of the devotees, comments from guests on "how Love changes everything", tidbits from the vendor booths, tombola results, and more.
Follow @BhaktiMarga108 here.
If you're at the event, tweet your best pics to @BhaktiMarga108 to share them! If you're not here, tweet us a selfie to say hello and #JaiGurudev!
