Tombola of Navaratri in Sri Peetha Nilaya

This story happend on Navaratri, at the center of Swami Vishwananda in Germany. Carlotta and her husband are from Italy and looking forward to receive a baby next year around Shivaratri. They came to celebrate with us in the Center for the whole time of Navaratri. On the night of the 13. during Devipuja in the tent we met in the Chapel for our tombola drawing. I told Carlotta but she prefered to stay in the tent. She won the first price of the beautiful red sari from Navaratri 2009. We wanted to surprise her und asked Rukmini (new name of Alana) to hand it over to her immediately afterwards. We went back to the tent and saw Carlotta sitting at the Yagna. As we didn´t want to disturb her prayer we waited. As soon the Yagna was finished Rukmini rushed to her and gave her the sari. She was overwhelmed.

Deeply touched she told us, that she had been cheating. She told the Divine Mother during the yagna in case she wins the sari she will wrap firstly her new born baby in it. How can the Divine Mother not answering such a prayer?

By the way the main Devi last year was wearing this Sari over all 10 days as all new Saris are wraped on top of each other. The red sari was the first one and thus very close to her all the time. What a blessing for the baby!

Birthday Tombola

Danya Lakshmi tombola.

On the occasion of our beloved Guruji Swami Vishwananda´s 32nd birthday we are starting the Danya Lakshmi tombola for the benefit of the build up of Shree Peetha Nilaya, the Centre of all of us here in Springen.

How to do it?

The first drawing will take place on the 13th of July (and not 13th of June- sorry for the mistake).  From thereon there will be ongoing drawings each month on the 13th, to find out three winners. Every three months all the tickets of the past three months will go into one pot to establish one top-price. The drawings will be always done by a child.

What may I give and what can I win?

For one ticket of 32,- Euros - it is Swami´s 32nd birthday - you get the chance to win as first price one piece from Swamiji´s privat belongings, for example a t-shirt, a pair of socks, a book, a pillow or something similar.

For second price you can win for example a special treatment with sound bowls. The third price can also be a CD, a book or something similar from the shop. The top-price could be a robe for example or another nice surprise.

How do I buy a ticket? There are two ways of purchasing a ticket:

   You can get a ticket directly at the birthday celebration- please turn to Dakshini. After the celebration you can purchase a ticket cash in the centre. Or:

There is a limit of 50 tickets each month. So don´t miss the chance to buy one in time.
