This story happend on Navaratri, at the center of Swami Vishwananda in Germany. Carlotta and her husband are from Italy and looking forward to receive a baby next year around Shivaratri. They came to celebrate with us in the Center for the whole time of Navaratri. On the night of the 13. during Devipuja in the tent we met in the Chapel for our tombola drawing. I told Carlotta but she prefered to stay in the tent. She won the first price of the beautiful red sari from Navaratri 2009. We wanted to surprise her und asked Rukmini (new name of Alana) to hand it over to her immediately afterwards. We went back to the tent and saw Carlotta sitting at the Yagna. As we didn´t want to disturb her prayer we waited. As soon the Yagna was finished Rukmini rushed to her and gave her the sari. She was overwhelmed.
Deeply touched she told us, that she had been cheating. She told the Divine Mother during the yagna in case she wins the sari she will wrap firstly her new born baby in it. How can the Divine Mother not answering such a prayer?
By the way the main Devi last year was wearing this Sari over all 10 days as all new Saris are wraped on top of each other. The red sari was the first one and thus very close to her all the time. What a blessing for the baby!
