Good Friday

.
Good Friday (from the senses pious, holy of the word "good"), is a religious holiday observed primarily by Christians commemorating the crucifixion of Jesus Christ and his death at Calvary.
.
  1. Jesus is condemned to death
  2. Jesus accepts the cross
  3. Jesus falls the first time
  4. Jesus meets His Mother
  5. Simon of Cyrene carries the cross
  6. Veronica wipes the face of Jesus
  7. Jesus falls the second time
  8. Jesus meets the women of Jerusalem
  9. Jesus falls the third time
  10. Jesus is stripped of His garments
  11. Crucifixion: Jesus is nailed to the cross
  12. Jesus dies on the cross
  13. Jesus' body is removed from the cross (Deposition or Lamentation)
  14. Jesus is laid in the tomb and covered in incense.
.

My Father, the work which you have given me to do, I have accomplished. My Father, to you I commend my spirit.

Jesu

.
.

"Before the crucifixion, He knew that inside Himself something great was happening, something that human minds can’t understand. He materialised His body into light, like He did when He transmuted Himself on the mountain.

How many people will really understand that? Not many. He did it to show that within our body lies the spiritual body. We all can access this spiritual body if we really want it. By the way, through the crucifixion Jesus showed that He was not just this mere human being crucified, He accepted all, in order to rise above the illusion and become the light. That is what man is here for – to continuously remind one that within this body there is the spiritual body, and that this is the reality. The other body can make this body grow above it.

But as long as we identify ourselves with the mere human being, we will always be this human being that we want to be. Do you want to be Divine or not? Then be it! Go ahead by reminding yourself continuously that you are God’s child. Pass through the stage of being a child of God until you can say afterwards “I and my Father are one.” From the son of man, who is human, to the son of God, who is reminding us continuously that we are Gods, until we can say “I and my Father are One.”

Rama Navami

Rama Navami is a festival commemorating the birth of Sri Rama, an incarnation of Sri Vishnu. It is celebrated on the ninth day (Navami) of the Chaitra month of the Hindu lunar year. (1st April for 2012).
.

.

Lord Rama incarnated to save his devotees from the tyrant, Ravana, and he is worshipped as an epitome of an ideal man. One who is good and true and the one who is ideal in every regard - a perfect son, an ideal brother, a wonderful husband, a great father and mighty king. He is not simply thought of as a hero, but as someone who is the true representation of a flawless man. It is believed that listening to the story of Rama cleanses the soul.

Meditating on the noble Rama and chanting his name is believed to ease the pains of life and lead one to moksha, or liberation. Devotees fast on this day seeking perfection as human beings, offer puja and also sing bhajans praising the deeds of Lord Rama, his loyal brother Lakshman, his devoted wife Sita and Rama's greatest devotee Hanuman. For our 2010 Celebration, Swamiji told stories about Lord Rama and talked about the significance of chanting Ram-Naam or the name of Lord Rama.

Bhajan Workshop in Switzerland

After the last Darshan in Switzerland, Swami Vishwananda asked us to learn more Bhajans and to grow together more as a Bhajan Group. When we heard that Meera Dasi was asked by Swamiji to go to different countries and give Bhajan lessons to the exisiting groups there, we organized a 2 day workshop here in Cudrefin.

There were about 15 participants. With a lot of interest, we listened the explanations about the history of bhajan singing and about Raagas. Then we did the NOM-TOM singing which was a wonderful experience - we became very relaxed and forgot about our daily worries.

At the end we also wanted to learn some new Bhajan - "hits" of Swami Vishwananda. On Sunday we were busy learning new songs.

It was a very interesting and fulfilling weekend, and we want to thank Meera Dasi and Ratnamanjari for their patience and loving way of teaching. Above all we want to thank Swami Vishwananda for his love and support!

Darshan in Brasilia

.
.
The almost Open-air Darshan took place just outside the futuristic capital in a small retreat centre (Spa-Balsamo). Unfortunately, we had quite a bit of rain on that day so the evening was very cool.
.
.
The city lights below the Darshan Hall sparkled like stars and the many joyful faces during the Darshan lit up the room!
.
.
Around 130 joyful Brazilians heard Swami´s talk about the various stages of prayer and enjoyed a very long Darshan (until 1am) with him.
.
.
Wonderful bhajans accompanied Swamiji during the evening and he even started another round of kirtan after the Darshan! Thanks to the Brasilia-Team!

.
Yesterday, 13th of March, Swami Vishwananda was invited to visit the Sai Baba Day-School.
.
.
The school is located just outside of Belo Horizonte and has 18 pupils and 3 teachers.
.
.
Swamiji and our small group received an extremely sincere and warm welcome.
.
.
Swami Vishwananda was very impressed by this project and enjoyed the landscape around, known as "Crystal-Hill"

Darshan with Sri Swami Vishwananda in Belo Horizonte

Yamunashree wrote:
The Darshan was very well prepared. 180 people enjoyed the evening with Swami Vishwananda and with a very good Bhajan group. Swamiji took a lot of time with everybody and he also recognized some visitors from last year.
He spoke very beautifully about peace which can come only out of our inner heart.
The next day (12. March) there was the Atma Kriya teacher initiation outside of Belo Horizonte. In the late afternoon we went back into the city where the Mudra 2 course took place.

Here the 5 new teachers took part in their first Yagna. There will be 3 Yagnas.
