Restoration of an Icon

Today Sri Swami Vishwananda brought an antique icon to the atelier and restored it on some parts.

Seeing him in deep concentration, while he is doing this work is always something very special.

About Swami Vishwananda

As some of you know and may also have experienced already, it happens that Swami Vishwananda helps you actively in your life.
This can happen in different ways, but he does it in a very fine and elegant way. Somtimes you understand only after years, that he was the one who did it. He has his own ways to guide us and he works mostly undercover!
We asked him very often und tried to find out more "How do you know?" and "Why you did this or that?" But his answer is always "This is my buisiness. I do my job and you do your job!"

Duduzwane Home

Duduzwane Home is a home for HIV infected children and adults in South Africa. Since some time many of the residents there come together to do OM Healing. Swami Vishwananda visited the home during his last visit to Johannesburg and connected with its people on a heart level.

The Duduzwane Home takes care of people who are HIV infected, provides them with medicine, helps with treatments and simply gives them a home.

With the help of Dhanam Jay (a devotee from SA) over the past few weeks, the Duduzwane residents recorded a heart-warming CD for Swami Vishwananda. The proceeds are entirely going towards the Duduzwane Home.
The CD can be ordered through order@bhaktishop.de
Price: 15,- € plus postage.

The Gift of Nothing

This sweet cartoon book was given to Swamiji for Gurupoornima. He was joyfully reading the story of the desperate dog Mooch who found finally peace again:

It was a special day and Mooch wanted to give his best friend, Earl, a gift.

But what to get him?

He had a bowl.

He had a bed.

He had a chewy toy.

He had it ALL.

Mooch thought and thought.

What do you get someone who has everything?

NOTHING!

He would give Earl the gift of nothing.

But in this world filled with so many somethings, where could he find nothing?

Mooch often heard Frank say there was „nothing on TV.“

But as far as Mooch could tell, there was always something on TV.

Mooch often heard Doozy and her friends say there was „nothing to do“

But as far as Mooch could tell, everybdoy was always doing something.

Milli came home from the store and said, „There was nothing to buy!“

So Mooch went shopping.

Mooch looked up and down every aisle.

He found many, many, many somethings.

The latest this, the newest that...

but as far as he could tell, nothing was not for sale.

So Mooch went home and sat on his pillow

and just stayed still (as cats often do).

And not looking for it, he found

nothing.

So he went and got a box

and put nothing in it.

Then Mooch thought, Hmmm … maybe Earl deserves more than this.

So he got a bigger box.

„Now that´s plenty of nothing!“

„For me?“ said Earl. „Mooch, you didn´t have to give me anything.“

Who told him? Thought Mooch.

Early opened Mooch´s gift.

„There´s nothing here,“ said Earl

„Yesh!“ said Mooch. „Nothing ….

„but me and you.“

So Mooch and Earl just stayed still

and enjoyed NOTHING

and EVERYTHING.

My Divine Teacher

I first met Swami Vishwananda in Belgium in 2005. And… my life took a favorable turn. Shortly after, I travelled to Germany for an interview and his first question to me was: “ Are you aware that Jesus Christ and Mother Maria are with you?” I was really surprised but fulfilled with happiness. Then, with a group from Nederland, I made a trip to India and Swami materialized a Bracelet for me. Meanwhile I often go to Germany for a Darshan: it is so special and exceedingly beautiful. For me he represents the Divinity himself and he radiates love, happiness and peace. He is devoted to everything that he realizes. During Shivaratri 2009, I was sitting in the back of his new centre in Springen. When Swami came in, he smiled and he took place near me. He bent forwards and I just wanted to envelop him with a lot of maternal love and care. For reason of respect I didn’t. He took place in front and materialized lingams. Also on Easter he was stigmatized from his hands and we received the blessings with it. I always feel his presence, sometimes I have the smell of Vibhuti, sometimes of roses. For me he shall allwaysstay my divine teacher example and sadguru.

With so much Love to my Lord.

A Guru is doing his work.

I have witnessed a number of times how Swami Vishwananda tries to show us through his Divine love how we can experience God’s endless love in our own hearts. During his first visit to my home and also during later encounters with him, I have been able to see a bit how he works.

I could see and feel how the hearts of strangers and friends who came to see him opened in his presence. Often he gave simple tips or suggestions. Everybody receives exactly what is needed in regards to his or her current situation. Seeing his way of teaching people through his sensitivity and Divine Love is a truly remarkable experience for me. To see how all burdens seem to fall away from those who seek his help and how they change the moment they meet him, is a truly beautiful sight. For the first time in my life, I have been able to watch a divine guru doing his spiritual work.

Simply being in his presence!

I have found that Swami Vishwananda dislikes idle chatter, gossip and general lazing around. He likes playing and loves life itself. He laughs a lot and has the most contagious laughter. He naturally loves all saints and their stories, and loves telling their stories and painting them. Most of all I appreciate simply being in his presence, with not much being said but at the same time feeling so immensely loved. Even when I am not in his presence physically, I inwardly feel his omnipresence and I always feel like I can communicate with him. Personally, I feel there is no difference for me whether he is physically there or travelling the world, I always feel his presence inside. I often feel him and his guidance much more strongly when I am not with him, something I experienced especially during my stay in India.

Swamiji's Transformations

Swami Vishwananda is definitely one of those rare persons who actually know and are fully conscious of their true self and their Divinity. He can connect with that Greater Reality at will. When the greater connection is made, Swami is no longer that ordinary person we see in everyday life. His facial expression and his eyes change as he becomes a radiant being expressing unconditional love. I have witnessed Swami’s transformation on a daily basis. Most of the time he behaves as a normal person who does not make a fuss about his true Divine self. Those who view him superficially do not recognize the greatness of his soul.

He takes us home!

Swami teaches his devotees through playing different roles. At times, he may interact with you as a strong master, best friend, a mother or even play with you like a child. Swami has appeared to various people around the world in many forms. Some people have seen him as Lord Krishna, others as Jesus or the Divine Mother. Truly his nature is divine! To me he is everything: master, mother, friend, my beloved and the Divine. He is my life and my final truth. His love guides me gently but firmly. I feel that Swami Vishwananda is truly here to take us home – back to our true reality.

Swami's Goal in Life

Swami Vishwananda is someone who loves God with all his heart and soul in a very pure and childlike way. This approach to loving God creates for him a very personal and natural relationship with the Divine, and thereby he resonates with people in a way that their lives may be transformed. Swami’s goal in life is to touch the hearts of people who are spiritually and magnetically drawn to him in such a way that they are motivated to adopt a spiritual life centred on God.

It's Your Choice what he is for You!

Once Swami and I went together to Rodrigues, a small island off the coast of Mauritius where we stayed at a small guesthouse. The son of the family who lived in the main house was 20 years old, which happened to be the same age as Swami at the time. The son began mocking Swami, making fun of him as a spiritual person who performed miracles, etc. Swami graciously tried a few times to talk to the son in a reasonable way, but met with no success. Soon Swami quietly removed himself from the uncomfortable situation. At that time I was astounded to see that instead of getting hurt or angry, he actually had compassion for the young man. Swami allows people to choose whether they relate to him as guru, brother, friend or just a ordinary person.

The wasp killer

This morning Swami Vishwananda is working to his schedule plan for next year. I write on the laptop, He was sitting next to the table. Suddenly a wasp is flying around Swami ‘s head and goes in his hairs. I push it out but it goes on the other side of Swami’s head. I begin to get nervous. Swami says to the wasp: “Please go out or this man (meaning me) will kill you.” I stand up, go to the outside door and open it. I am not finish to open the door when I see the wasp flying outside. Surprised I answer: “This was really quick. The wasp understood good your words, Swami”.

Om Namo Narayananya

Some days ago I went quickly to my room in Springen to get something. My balkony door was open and I heart from far outside a nice melodic sound with the Mantra “Om Namo Narayanaya” which I thought cames from a CD. It was nice to listen. Short after this moment I met Guruji. He went in his room. From outside the garden you could still hear the nice chanting. He asked me: „Who is singing so nice?“ „Oh, it is from a CD...“ I answered. “No it’s not” he said, opened his balkony door and went out. A group of five people were sitting in the garden packing Vibhuti in little plastc bags. They where singing “Om Namo Narayanaya” very soft and sweet. Swamiji was happy to see this little round who packed so devoted the holy ash without talking or chatting. Dakshini, Springen

Love and Patience

Some time later, I had the opportunity to translate for Swami Vishwananda during private interviews with people. I observed how he created that very private contact with all people on an intimate level and was able to give them exactly what they needed at exactly the right time. This, I realised, was true love, accepting people exactly as they are, unconditionally. Once, Swami Vishwananda gave a lecture at an Easter program that touched me deeply. I felt that he addressed me alone. I was thinking, Could it really be that he is speaking only to me? Later I found out that I was not the only one who had felt that way - many people had experienced exactly the same thing. Swami Vishwananda is capable of reaching out to people on a mass scale, and teaching them with an incredible amount of love and patience. During darshan, Swami Vishwananda transmits divine energy to the crowd as well as personally when he gives the individual blessing. The individual blessing is a very intimate moment where whatever one is carrying around, be it sorrow or sickness, can be transformed by the divine energy. This is what I felt during my first darshan in Cape Town, South Africa. At other darshans I have experienced an incredible amount of energy, sometimes very powerful and sometimes very soft and tender. Sumitra, Germany
